Meet the
Artist
We are excited to showcase three local artists whose work is available in the International Crane Foundation’s Gift Shop.
Above, detail of George’s Grandchildren by Janet Flynn.
Janet Flynn
Meet Janet at the International Crane Foundation’s Welcome Center from 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Janet Flynn will talk about her inspiration for a beautiful piece called “George’s Grandchildren” – in honor of International Crane Foundation Co-Founder George Archibald. This piece has quite a story attached to it! The original painting hangs in George’s office, and a numbered print is for sale in the Foundation’s gift shop. Janet will also present for the first time a new piece of work featuring cranes – we are very excited to help her premiere this new work.
Vicky Lilly
Meet Vicky at the International Crane Foundation’s Welcome Center from 12 to 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Vicky will discuss her art and its connection to our cranes at the International Crane Foundation.
Patrick Shea
Meet Patrick at the International Crane Foundation’s Welcome Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Aldo Leopold Foundation’s Legacy Center both days.
Patrick Shea will tell his story of art and cranes and how they became the subject of much of his work. He will show how he starts a piece and then progresses through to the finish. Patrick has a close connection to the artist, Owen Gromme, and it is known that Owen Gromme and Aldo Leopold were also friends. Come listen to his story!
